Going Organic at Paris' Raspail Market

On Sundays in Paris, you have to visit the Blvd Raspail market. It's all-organic on Sundays and you'll find the most incredible fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, bread, wine, olive oil, and cheeses. It is hard to go wrong with anything you pick here. Buy some fresh bread, herbed goat cheese, and a handful of grapes to take to nearby Luxembourg Gardens.

We also bought linens and placemats made in the South of France for our dining room table - much less expensive than buying them here and it's really high quality. Don't be afraid to bargain a little bit!

Address: Blvd Raspail between Rue du Cherche-Midi & Rue de Rennes, 6th arr.

Hours: The organic market on Sundays is 8:30 a.m.-around 2 p.m. They shut down right away - ready to get home! The market is also open on Tuesday and Friday mornings but isn't organic.

Metro: Rennes

Perfect Produce at Jerusalem's Mahane Yehuda Market

We did an 8-hour private guided tour today with an amazing man, Meir More. I can't recommend him enough! While I'm working through the massive history lesson (kings, religions, destruction!), I wanted to post something lighter - gorgeous fruit and vegetable photos from Jerusalem's market, Mahane Yehuda. It is one of the best markets in the world, however, massively crowded on Fridays as the Jewish people prepare for Shabbat and a day of rest. Picture challah bread frantically being purchased.
