Flowers in Bloom in Central Park

I hope these photos put a smile on your face like they do for me! When Central Park is awash in spring beauty and color, I try to spend as much time as possible there. It's like the ultimate Garden of Eden. Every time, I feel like I've walked down a new path or climbed a new rock. I see the carousel and can't wait to take my own kids there. Writing and researching my Behind the Scenes in Central Park story for National Geographic this year made me fall more in love with these 843 acres.

Certain pieces are more fun to write than others - and I had such a wonderful time researching and writing this piece about Central Park and interviewing the President and CEO of the Central Park Conservancy. Did you know the park is divided into 49 zones and each zone has its own head gardener to keep everything running smoothly? I love spending time in the park, even now, when it's 25 degrees out.

Another Walk in Central Park

I can't go into Central Park without taking a photo. Here's one from a walk last weekend. I actually get giddy thinking about the leaves changing in the park this fall. 

Summer Scene: Central Park

August hasn't been too hot here in New York.  I've spent at least 1-2 hours each day outside on neighborhood walks.  I snapped these two scenes on a Central Park walk.  One was a kid's birthday party, which I thought was so adorable.  And the other is sunbathers in Sheep Meadow, baking themselves as much as possible before winter comes again.
