Grocery shopping in New York can be a process, to say the least. I rotate between 7-8 stores because certain ones carry things I like best. Throw in the farmer’s markets and you can literally be shopping for food every day. The tiny stores are usually crowded and you have to plan out when you’re going to go.
I mentioned this store when I did my marathon walk, but I recently went back to the beautiful 59th Street & 1st Ave Bridgemarket Food Emporium under the 59th Street Bridge and was reminded at how much I love it. Room to roam. Room to read food labels without being trampled by someone in a rush. Room to read magazines and listen to piano music on the second floor. Clean restrooms. Beautiful architecture.
