When we had friends in town, we wanted to take them somewhere very "New York." They are both cocktail lovers and we had all heard about The Little Branch, a tiny, hidden lounge known for its incredible bartenders. There's no sign - just a corner door and other people milling around waiting to get in. I normally refuse to wait for any amount of time in New York but here it's fine - they don't want to overcrowd the space. After waiting for 1/2 hour on 7th Avenue, we were allowed in, seated at a booth, and ordered drinks. We all loved it, especially telling the bartender what you do and don't like and having her come up with a special drink just for you.
