I am so grateful for the many, many texts, e-mails, facebook messages, tweets, website notes, and phone calls we have received during the mess known as Hurricane Sandy. Sandy completely knocked out a huge power station on 14th St in Manhattan, leaving most of lower Manhattan below 34th St without power, including us. Our building, and many others, is also without water. We have taken refuge with friends on the Upper East Side until power and water is restored and are so grateful to them and to others that have opened their homes to us.
Nothing makes me appreciate our wonderful, cozy apartment, and power, Internet, and ability to cook more! More to come.
