My grand plans of blogging often on this trip have been dashed by packed days and limited sleep, though each and every one has been a wonderful & challenging mix of sights and activities for someone who worries about becoming a jaded traveler. I've been to Amman, the White City built on many hills that is today an intriguing blend of modern and historical. My favorite tour so far has been the Roman ruins of Jerash, where I could look out and actually see an ancient city alive.
We camped out at Feynan Ecolodge last night, with only candles lighting the hotel at night. And we toured the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Petra today, which is worthy of its fame. I am looking forward to camping at Wadi Rum tomorrow, where Lawrence of Arabia was filmed, followed by time in Aqaba and the Dead Sea.
There will be much more to come when I return to New York City!
