Aloha Maui!

Sunset View from our roomI'm writing this cocooned in my Four Seasons Maui bed and trying not to focus on having been awake for 24 hours!  I wanted to share a few photos of arrival day.  Maggie flew from Texas, I flew from New York City and meeting up at Kahului airport for our sister trip was punctuated with mini squeals and hugs.  An easy 25-minute drive from OGG and we arrived at the hotel, greeted with pink and white fresh flower leis.

GymAfter the long travel day and eating more than one lunch, I decided I needed to fit in a workout.  45 minutes in the open-air gym watching the sunset made treadmill time go much quicker. And we still had time to watch the sunset from our balcony.  We had an alfresco dinner at Ferraro's where the lapping of the ocean sounded like it was pulled from a CD of "soothing sounds." And they brought out an adorable birthday dessert to celebrate Maggie's day.  I feel like we are blissfully suspended from reality and that's what I always say is the point of a great night at a hotel.  You can become someone else for the price of a room night.  One good night's sleep and we'll be raring to go in the morning.
